Platonas Marlafekas, Executive Director of LOUX made some suggestions on simplifying procedures in the Greek State in the context of the conference with the topic “Does a unified market lead to new development?”

LOUX, under the sponsorship of the Greek Presidency of the European Union, participated in the Conference organized on June 16, 2014, by the Ministry of Finance in cooperation with the European Commission on the topic “Does a unified market lead to new development?”

Specifically Mr. Platonas Marlafekas, Executive Director of LOUX presented the problems faced by Greek businesses especially over the last six years due to the extreme economic conditions of the country. The non existent bank structure for financing is an important factor creating problems in liquidity and makes it difficult businesses to start their export activity. He also attributed some blame to the extensive bureaucracy that causes long delays in businesses during the export process.

Then Mr. Marlafekas, announced his proposals on the “treatment of pathogenisis” prevailing in the Greek public sector is due to the reasons presented. Initially, he proposed the facilitation of procedures regarding the use of tax-free business reserves to enhance liquidity. Then he proposed simplifying bureaucracy in regards to the term of 2014-2020 which will give incentive to create new and innovative businesses in all sectors. Finally, he proposed, speaking as the President of the Chamber of Achaia, the empowerment of SMEs through the strong presence of the Chamber of Achaia, which in return will be central points for these businesses for guidance, information and support on entrepreneurship.
